State Employees Back Hooper for House

VSEA Gives Endorsement Nod to Former President

BURLINGTON, Vt. — The Vermont State Employees’ Association (“VSEA”) has given its backing to the Vermont House campaign of Bob Hooper. The union, which represents more than 6,000 members across State government, endorsed the Chittenden 6-1 candidate late last month.

”For more than a decade, Bob Hooper fought tooth and nail to support working families as the president of our union. That’s the kind of leadership that we need more of in Montpelier right now,” said Dave Bellini, the current VSEA President. “The people of the New North End couldn’t ask for a better advocate.”

In over a quarter of a century of State service, Hooper worked both for the Child Protection Division as a social worker, and as a probation officer. Since retiring, Hooper has served as the President of the VSEA’s Retirees’ Chapter, and as a trustee of the Vermont Pension Investment Committee, where he has been a committed advocate for secure retirement for all Vermonters.
